What's On In The Valley

Heritage Trades Day at Gulf Station

A festival celebrating traditional trades and historic skills.

Regional events and experiences worth planning around while you base yourself in Warburton.

The steady hand of a maker, the rhythm of old-world tools, and the knowledge of how things used to be built before everything became disposable. On 25 October 2026, those skills are coming back to life at Gulf Station.

Located at 1029 Melba Highway in Yarra Glen, the Heritage Trades Day is a festival dedicated to celebrating traditional trades and historic skills. It’s a chance to step away from the digital hum of modern life and get close to the craftsmanship that shaped our history.

The day kicks off at 10:00 am, giving you plenty of time to wander through the demonstrations and soak in the atmosphere. Whether you’re interested in the mechanics of old-world industry or just want to see how the masters did it, there is a lot to take in. The event runs until late, with things winding down around 11:30 pm.

Entry to the festival ranges from $5 to $25, making it easy to drop in and explore the heritage on display. It’s a rare opportunity to see these historic trades in action, right here in the Yarra Valley.

If you find yourself inspired by the craftsmanship at Gulf Station, why not make a proper day of it? The valley is waiting, and the trails are just a short drive away.

Grab your tickets and head down to Yarra Glen to witness history in the making.
