Community Action

Get your hands dirty at Birdsland

A simple morning of community action at Birdsland Reserve, trading the screen for some soil to help bolster the local landscape.

Regional events and experiences worth planning around while you base yourself in Warburton.

There is something different about the air in the valley when you’re working with the land. It’s a bit more grounded. A bit more honest. On the 26th of July, you have the chance to be a part of that, trading the screen for some soil at the Birdsland Reserve tree planting day.

It’s a simple morning of community action. From 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, a group of locals will gather at 271 Mt Morton Road in Belgrave Heights to help bolster the local landscape. It is about more than just digging holes; it’s about contributing to the greenery that makes our corner of the world what it is.

The event runs for two hours, giving you enough time to make a real dent in the planting without spending the whole day in the dirt. It’s an easy way to get outdoors, connect with the neighbours, and leave a lasting mark on the reserve.

Because we want to make sure there is enough gear and space for everyone, booking is required for this one. You won’t be able to just wander in off the trail, so make sure you secure your spot ahead of time via the Yarra Ranges website.

If you want to get involved, you can find all the details and the booking link through the official Yarra Ranges event page or follow the Birdsland Belgrave Facebook event to keep track of the updates.

It’s a small act with a long shadow. We’ll see you out there.
